Leon Liu, Founder, CEO and President
Leon started his career in the networking industry more than 15 years ago. He headed a team of more than 120 engineers responsible for building that company's first R&D quality and verification department. Moving to Canada in 2000, he joined Nortel Networks, where he was involved in ASIC verification and wireless base station software design. He started Viscore Technologies in 2002 to provide clients with Asian sales and business development services and access to a low-cost China supply chain. In 2004, he initiated a successful R&D program to provide clients with innovative, high-performance passive component technology products and solutions for transforming optical networks.
Leon earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technologies, one of China's premier post secondary educational institutions.
He has generated one patent and has another patent pending.
Dr. Kin-Wai Leong, Senior vice-president, Research and Development
A 17-year veteran of photonics industry, Kin-Wai's experience spans a wide range of activities, including product R&D, NPI /pilot manufacturing, project management, and team leadership. His technical background in optics and optoelectronics encompasses active and passive photonic devices and subsystems, advanced materials (such as III-V semiconductors and silica-on-silicon planar lightwave circuits), photonic packaging, and material and device characterization. Kin-Wai has managed critical product and technology activities for several companies, including Nortel, JDSU and Picarro Inc. In 2003, he founded SolDTech Inc., a company exploring photonic applications in the medical area.
Kin-Wai earned his Ph.D. in Quantum Electronics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his experimental dissertation dealt with advanced photonic processes.
Wenlu Wang, Director, Advanced Product Development
Wenlu Wang has more than 12 years of experience in optical networking industry with proven track records of managing product development from concept design to high volume production. He has expertise in optics, electro-optics, hardware and firmware design, and optical system engineering. He has significant experience in leading and coordinating cross-functional teams to facilitate the integration, testing, verification, characterization, and NPI activities to ensure the successful delivery of complex projects to meet customer needs.
Wenlu started his career with JDS Uniphase in 1998 as a product development engineer, where he designed and developed many high performance and high reliability DWDM, OADM optical components and instruments for the optical telecom industry. Then, he joined Nortel Networks in 2000 as a senior hardware designer, where he contributed to the development of 10Gb/s, 2.5Gb/s, Quad OC12/3 line cards to high volume production for long-haul and metro optical networks. As a result of the acquisition in 2004, Wenlu joined Flextronics as a senior hardware designer and technical leader in photonics to sustain product lines, to develop new designs to production, and to provide customer technical supports.
Wenlu earned his Ph.D. in optical instruments from Tsinghua University, Beijing, and his MBA from the University of Ottawa.
Helen Ge, Vice-president, Finance
