The CWDM transportation is widely deployed for the Radio back-haul and other access application. For different application scenarios, customers prefer different topology to optimize the network for their priorities.
Here I summarized the 4 configurations. Viscore has all products, especially the Bidi solutions.
- Bidi-SFP+ 2ports CWDM patch cord
It use special design Bidi SFP and a 2ports CWDM patch cord. Since the CWDM patch cord has only two ports, it looks better. It is not cost effective because the Bidi SFP is not popular.
- Hybrid(CWDM+50%) + Std-SFP
It used standard SFP and a Viscore hybrid which combines CWDM and 50% coupler inside. It has 3 ports. It should be the best cost configuration.
- Std-SFP + circulator + 2port CWDM
It uses circulator to replace the 50% coupler. So, the insertion loss performance is better. However, it is more expensive. So, it is interesting when Link budget is sensitive.
- Std-SFP + 3ports CWDM (2WL)
It used standard SFP and a 3 ports CWDM. It uses TWO (2) WL per port. The benefit is bit rate. It can be easily updated to 2.5g and future 6g.
